Year 3/4 Maths Championships 2024

The Maths Championships 2024 had arrived and Roberts were keen to show what they were made of. With great competition across the borough against another 11 teams, Roberts knew the task was going to be difficult.

The first round was the game ’24.’ Children were given 4 numbers to make the number 24. The only catch was they had to use every number. They could use all calculations to achieve it with the range of difficulty from 1-3.

Round 2 was Mathrix where the children had a challenging grid, similar to Sudoku but rather than just putting numbers in a row, column or box they had to use all 4 calculations to achieve it- not easy!

Round 3 was Matchsticks where the children were given 3 matchsticks on a given image to make a complete square- all schools found this one tricky.

Round 4 were maths anagrams and then finally Maths Countdown, the favourite of all schools.

Although they didn’t win, everyone at Roberts are proud of our team to getting to the finals of a Dudley competition and trying their very best.
