World Book Day 2024

This year World Book Day takes place on Thursday 7th March. At Roberts we value reading very highly and we are all going to take part in this special day to celebrate the joy of books and reading. We will be celebrating the children’s reading successes and they will be taking part in a range of different activities on the day to promote this. To help celebrate this special day, children are invited to wear pyjamas to school and bring in their favourite story. Alternatively, children can come dressed as a book character if they wish. You should not feel obliged to buy expensive costumes.

Every child will also be provided with a £1 World Book Day token. Children can swap their £1 token for any of the £1 books or get £1 off a full price title, any full price book or audiobook (as long as the book or audiobook costs at least £2.99) at participating booksellers such as Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco, The Works, Waterstones or WH Smith before 31st March 2024. Please note that the World Book Day book tokens cannot be used for online purchases.

You can join us in building your child’s enthusiasm for books by reading together and joining your local library if you are not already members. For more information about World Book Day and ideas on sharing books at home, please visit www.worldbookday.com

If you have questions about World Book Day or the activities that we will be providing in school, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff.
