Year 3 and 4 Maths Championships - Final!

The finals of the Maths Championships 22/23 had finally arrived. Roberts had successfully navigated their way to the grand final after securing their place in the heats in February. The team were eager to show off their maths skills against 11 other schools from the Dudley Borough, Worcestershire and Sandwell.
Round 1: The children had to work together to get 24 from 4 given numbers which varied from easier (1 point) to very challenging (3 points).
Round 2: The children encountered a reasoning challenge using stars in a grid which was very tricky.
Round 3: The children had a maze with different measures which they had to travel through aiming to make the smallest weight possible.
Round 4: A quickfire maths word association game.
Round 5: Finally, the one we all wanted - Countdown...with a twist. The children had to use all 6 numbers to make the number.

Lastly, a winner had to be announced. The team were happy with their performance but were not expecting to be placed. In third place was the Glynne. Then, to everyone's surprise, in second place was ROBERTS. The team were absolutely delighted and shocked at the same time at being runners up. Amazing!
